The blue fruit borer (Osphranteria coerulescens) is a destructive wood-boring beetle belonging to the family Cerambycidae. This pest is a significant threat to fruit orchards, particularly in arid and semi-arid regions where it can cause extensive damage to timber and tree health.

The primary hosts for this beetle are stone fruit species, including apricot, peach, plum, and almond trees. By burrowing into the branches and trunks, the larvae compromise the structural integrity and vascular flow of the trees, often leading to canopy dieback or the death of the entire tree.
