The Barred fruit tree tortrix (Pandemis cerasana) is a prominent moth species from the Tortricidae family within the order Lepidoptera. It is considered a major economic pest in European orchards, known for its ability to damage a wide variety of fruit-bearing trees and shrubs.
This species is highly polyphagous, targeting a broad range of host plants including apple, pear, plum, cherry, and various berry crops like currants. The larvae are the primary damaging stage, feeding aggressively on buds, leaves, flowers, and developing fruitlets throughout the growing season.
