The eucalyptus longhorned borer (Phoracantha semipunctata) is a significant wood-boring beetle from the order Coleoptera and the family Cerambycidae. Originally native to Australia, this invasive species has successfully established itself in many global regions where eucalyptus trees are cultivated, acting as a major threat to both commercial forestry and ornamental plantings.

The primary hosts for this pest are species within the Eucalyptus genus. While the beetle prefers stressed or dying trees, it can act as a primary pest under favorable environmental conditions, such as severe drought.
