Palmen's psyllid (Psylla palmeni) is a small sap-sucking insect belonging to the order Hemiptera and the family Psyllidae. These insects are well-known plant pests that exhibit a high degree of host specificity, primarily targeting certain willow species in temperate climates.
The primary host plants for Psylla palmeni are trees within the genus Salix. The psyllids colonize the tender tissues of young shoots and developing leaves during the spring and summer months. By extracting phloem sap, they disrupt the plant's nutrient transport system, which can severely impact the vigor of the tree.
