Systematic position: The genus Psyllobora belongs to the order Coleoptera and the family Coccinellidae (lady beetles). Unlike most predatory species within this family, members of this genus are specialized mycophagous beetles, meaning their diet consists primarily of fungal material.
Biology and life cycle: The life cycle involves four stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. Eggs are typically laid on the underside of leaves that show signs of powdery mildew. Both larvae and adults are highly mobile and use specialized mouthparts to graze on fungal mycelium and spores found on the leaf surface.
