The Ptycholoma leafroller (Ptycholoma) belongs to the Tortricidae family within the Lepidoptera order. These moths are recognized as significant agricultural pests in temperate climates. The adults are nocturnal, while their larval stage, the caterpillars, are responsible for the physical damage observed on trees and shrubs.
These pests primarily target fruit trees, including apple, pear, cherry, and plum. In addition to commercial orchards, they are found in gardens and wild woodland areas, allowing them to easily migrate to managed crops.
