Furthermore, specific members of the Pyralidae family are notorious for infesting grain storage facilities, causing substantial losses in stored cereals and processed food products.
Biology and life cycle typically involve a complete metamorphosis consisting of egg, larva (caterpillar), pupa, and adult moth stages. The larvae are the primary damaging agents. They possess strong mandibles and are highly active feeders.
