It is a highly intelligent and socially complex bird native to East Africa, known for its significant impact on local agricultural systems due to its opportunistic feeding habits.

Affected crops: This species poses a notable threat to a wide range of horticultural and field crops. It frequently targets cereal crops, including maize, sorghum, and millet. Furthermore, it is a significant pest in fruit orchards, causing substantial losses in harvests of mango, papaya, grapes, and various other fruit-bearing species during their maturation phase.

Biology and development: The superb starling lives in organized colonies, exhibiting high levels of fecundity and territoriality.
