The polyphagous coffee beetle (Stephanoderes polyphagus) is a member of the order Coleoptera and the family Curculionidae (subfamily Scolytinae). This pest is known for its ability to infest a wide range of woody plants, making it a persistent and difficult challenge for farmers in various tropical and subtropical regions across the globe.
The primary hosts of this beetle include coffee plants, but its "polyphagous" nature means it can successfully colonize many other tree species.
