Telenomus euproctidis is a parasitic wasp belonging to the order Hymenoptera and the family Scelionidae. This minute insect is a specialized egg parasitoid that targets the eggs of the Gold-tail moth (Euproctis chrysorrhoea), serving as a crucial natural enemy in forestry and orchard ecosystems.

The biological cycle of this species is perfectly synchronized with its host. The adult female Telenomus locates egg masses of the host and deposits her own eggs inside them. The larvae develop by consuming the contents of the host egg, effectively preventing the development of the moth caterpillar and leading to the birth of a new generation of parasitic wasps instead.

This parasitoid primarily impacts agroecosystems containing fruit trees such as apples, pears, and plums, as well as common deciduous forest species like oaks.
