Description
Tetralopha robustella, commonly known as the pine webworm moth, is a notable pest belonging to the order Lepidoptera and the family Pyralidae. It primarily targets various species of pine, posing a significant risk to the health and aesthetics of coniferous plantations and ornamental trees.
The life cycle of the moth consists of egg, larva, pupa, and adult stages. Females lay eggs on the needles, and upon hatching, the larvae exhibit gregarious behavior. They construct distinct webbing nests around the needles, which serve as protective shelters where they feed throughout their larval development.
