The macadamia nut borer (Thaumatotibia batrachopa) is a moth belonging to the order Lepidoptera and the family Tortricidae. It is recognized as a significant pest in macadamia-growing regions, where it specializes in attacking developing and mature nuts, threatening the profitability of the crop.

The primary host for this pest is the macadamia tree. It is particularly dangerous because the larvae target the nuts directly, affecting yield and quality during the most critical stages of nut development, from early set to harvest maturity.
