Trissolcus euchisti is a highly specialized parasitoid wasp belonging to the family Scelionidae of the order Hymenoptera. Rather than being a plant pest, it is a significant biological control agent. It serves as a natural enemy to various species of stink bugs (family Pentatomidae), such as the brown stink bug Euschistus servus, which cause severe damage to agricultural crops globally.

The taxonomic position of this species underscores its role as a dedicated egg parasitoid. Its biology is finely tuned to the chemical cues emitted by stink bugs during their oviposition process. By detecting these volatile organic compounds, the female wasp can locate and parasitize fresh egg masses on host plants, playing a vital role in natural pest population suppression.
