Trissolcus

Trissolcus histani is a species of parasitic wasp belonging to the family Scelionidae, order Hymenoptera. Unlike direct plant pests, this insect serves as a crucial biological control agent, specifically targeting the eggs of various bug species (Pentatomidae) that frequently infest agricultural crops.

This parasitoid is highly significant in protecting crops such as cereals, legumes, and vegetable crops. Stink bugs, which are the hosts for Trissolcus histani, cause substantial damage by feeding on plant tissues and reproductive organs, often leading to reduced harvest quality and significant economic losses.
