Zygrita (Latin: Zygrita diva) is a specialized insect pest belonging to the order Coleoptera and the family Curculionidae. In agricultural environments, it is primarily recognized as a stem borer, causing significant yield losses in legumes, with a particular affinity for soybean crops (Glycine max).

The biology of Zygrita diva is deeply tied to the growth stages of its host plants. Adults typically emerge and mate before the female selects a suitable site on the plant stem to deposit her eggs. By targeting the stem tissue, the pest ensures that its offspring have immediate access to food upon hatching, which is critical for the survival of the larvae.
