Asulam

Asulam is a selective systemic herbicide belonging to the carbamate chemical class. It is widely employed in modern agriculture to manage specific problematic weeds that compete with essential crops for soil nutrients, water, and sunlight.

The mode of action of this substance focuses on the inhibition of cell division within the meristematic tissues of target plants. By blocking the synthesis of dihydropteroate synthase, Asulam disrupts folic acid metabolism, which is crucial for plant growth.
