Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is an organic compound that serves as a powerful solvent and specialized adjuvant in modern agricultural practices, primarily aimed at enhancing the delivery of active ingredients in crop protection products.

The core mechanism of DMSO is its unique ability to increase the permeability of biological membranes. By acting as a penetration enhancer, it facilitates the rapid uptake of herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides into plant tissues and pest organisms.

In field applications, DMSO is incorporated into tank mixes to improve the systemic efficiency of various agrochemicals. It allows for more effective control of weeds and diseases by ensuring that active ingredients cross stubborn plant barriers, such as thick cuticle layers or leaf waxes.
