Active ingredient

Cyclaniliprole

Description

Cyclaniliprole is a highly effective, broad-spectrum insecticide belonging to the anthranilic diamide chemical class. It is widely recognized in professional agriculture for its ability to manage various lepidopteran, coleopteran, and dipteran pests that threaten crop yields and quality.

The primary mode of action involves the activation of ryanodine receptors within the insect's muscles. By triggering an uncontrolled release of calcium ions, the substance disrupts the normal neuromuscular function of the pest, leading to immediate cessation of feeding, paralysis, and death.

Cyclaniliprole is utilized across a variety of high-value crops, including solanaceous vegetables like tomatoes and peppers, leafy brassicas, and pome fruits. Its excellent performance in controlling stubborn populations makes it an essential component for modern integrated pest management (IPM) strategies.

A key agronomic advantage of this active ingredient is its significant translaminar activity. Once applied, the compound moves through the leaf tissues, ensuring that pests hiding on the underside of leaves are also reached, thereby providing a more comprehensive and persistent protective barrier.

Users must adhere to strict safety protocols, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and strict observation of pre-harvest intervals. Additionally, applications should be managed carefully to avoid exposure to foraging bees, ensuring compatibility with surrounding biodiversity and pollinator safety requirements.
