Description

Inpyrfluxam is a novel active ingredient belonging to the pyrazole-carboxamide chemical class. It functions as a succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI), providing broad-spectrum fungicidal activity against various plant pathogens, including Ascomycetes and Basidiomycetes that threaten field crops globally.

The primary mechanism of action involves the inhibition of the succinate dehydrogenase enzyme within the mitochondrial respiration chain of the fungus. By blocking the electron transport system, Inpyrfluxam effectively starves the pathogen of energy, leading to the rapid cessation of hyphal growth and spore production, effectively stopping the disease progression.

Inpyrfluxam is widely used on essential agricultural crops, including wheat, barley, soybeans, and corn. Its efficacy is particularly notable against rusts, leaf spot diseases, powdery mildew, and various Fusarium species, helping farmers maintain high yields and superior grain quality in diverse environmental conditions.

The technical advantages of this substance include superior systemic translocation within plant tissues and strong translaminar movement. This allows for excellent coverage and protection of treated plants, including newly developed leaves and stems, while providing long-lasting residual control against re-infection.
