Description

Thiram is a contact fungicide belonging to the dithiocarbamate chemical class. This substance is widely used in global crop protection practices, primarily as a seed treatment agent, providing reliable protection against a complex of seed-borne and soil-borne infections that threaten crop establishment.

The mechanism of action of thiram is based on the disruption of metabolic processes within pathogen cells. It inhibits redox reactions by blocking the activity of enzymes containing copper and sulfhydryl groups. As a result, the fungal organism loses its ability to grow and develop mycelium, which prevents the infection of seedlings during the early stages of vegetation.

The product is used for treating a wide range of agricultural crops, including cereals, corn, sunflower, sugar beets, and vegetables. It is effective against diseases such as smuts, root rots, seed decay, ascochyta blight, anthracnose, and various types of leaf spots that can severely reduce crop yields.
