Description
Trichoderma asperellum (strain ICC012) is a high-performance biological fungicide derived from a specific strain of beneficial soil-dwelling fungi. As a natural antagonist, it serves as a critical component in modern integrated pest management (IPM) strategies, providing sustainable protection for various agricultural and horticultural crops against soil-borne pathogens.
The primary mechanism of action is based on mycoparasitism and competition. Strain ICC012 actively attacks the mycelium of pathogenic fungi, secreting lytic enzymes that degrade the structural components of the invader. Simultaneously, it colonizes the plant root zone more rapidly than many pathogens, effectively creating a protective biological barrier and competing for essential nutrients and space.
