Description
Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) mild strain is utilized as a biological plant protection agent. Rather than functioning as a conventional chemical fungicide or insecticide, this biological agent acts as a vaccine, inducing a state of systemic resistance within the host plant against virulent, field-occurring strains of the virus.
The mechanism of action relies on the principle of cross-protection. By inoculating plants with a mild, symptomless, or attenuated strain, the plant's defense systems are triggered.
