Pressure compensation (in drip irrigation)

A technology that maintains a constant water flow rate from each emitter regardless of pressure fluctuations or elevation changes across the field.

Также говорят: PC emitters, pressure-compensating drip irrigation, uniform discharge

Pressure compensation is essential for irrigation on uneven terrain or in long drip lines where water pressure varies significantly between the beginning and the end of the system. Integrated silicone membranes automatically adjust the flow rate, ensuring uniform water distribution to every plant.

Using pressure-compensating emitters prevents over-irrigation in low-pressure areas and water deficiency on slopes. This promotes consistent crop development and maximizes yields. A common mistake is operating the system at pressure levels below the manufacturer's threshold, which fails to engage the membrane mechanism, resulting in uneven application.
