Coastal teatree (Leptospermum laevigatum) is a robust evergreen shrub belonging to the Myrtaceae family. Widely recognized for its durability, this species is specifically adapted to maritime environments, making it a critical plant for ecological stabilization and coastal landscaping.
Originating from the coastal regions of eastern Australia, the species has been introduced to various global climates due to its ability to thrive in challenging, nutrient-poor sandy soils. It is important to note that, as a member of the Myrtaceae family, it is sensitive to high phosphorus levels, so low-phosphorus fertilizers are recommended for soil health.
