White rockrose (Helianthemum almeriense) is a perennial semi-shrub belonging to the Cistaceae family. It is a highly valued ornamental plant known for its ability to thrive in harsh, arid environments while maintaining a clean, attractive appearance throughout the growing season.
Native to the arid regions of Southeastern Spain, specifically the province of Almeria, this plant is well-adapted to limestone-rich soils and rocky terrain. Its natural habitat is characterized by intense sunlight and low rainfall, which has shaped the plant's physiological endurance and drought-resistant traits.
The plant features compact growth reaching heights of 30–40 cm, with narrow, lanceolate leaves that are often grey-green due to fine pubescence.
