Knotty cranesbill

Knotty cranesbill (Geranium nodosum L.) is a perennial herb belonging to the Geraniaceae family. This species is highly regarded in horticulture for its exceptional shade tolerance and its ability to maintain a neat appearance throughout the growing season, making it an essential element for woodland gardens and shaded borders.

The plant originates from the mountainous forests of Southern and Central Europe, including regions of the Alps and the Balkans. Because of its native alpine and woodland habitats, it has developed a natural affinity for cool, moist environments and organic-rich, well-draining soils, allowing it to thrive in conditions where many other flowering plants struggle.
