Anthocyanosis is a specific plant disease caused by the Cotton anthocyanosis virus. It is a systemic viral infection that disrupts the normal metabolism of plant pigments, leading to the accumulation of anthocyanins in the leaf tissues. This condition is a significant concern in plant pathology, as it directly impacts the vigor and yield potential of the host plant.

The primary crop affected by this pathogen is cotton. The disease manifests itself during the active growing stages, significantly altering the physiological state of the plants.
