Diademaceae are a family of fungi within the order Pleosporales that serve as significant plant pathogens. These organisms interact with host plant tissues by inducing localized cell death and disrupting normal biological processes, which classifies them as agents responsible for various types of plant spotting diseases.

The causative agents are specialized fungal strains that infect plants through the epidermis. As they develop, they secrete enzymes that degrade plant cells, leading to characteristic symptoms such as chlorosis and necrosis. The severity of the disease is often proportional to the environmental stress the host plant is experiencing.

Key symptoms typically manifest as irregular, often dark-bordered spots on leaves and stems. As the infection progresses, these spots expand, leading to the collapse of local tissue.
