The virus affects a diverse range of crops, including tomatoes, cucumbers, and various tobacco species. The transmission primarily occurs mechanically through contaminated pruning shears or agricultural equipment, but it can also be facilitated by insect vectors such as aphids, which readily feed on the infected tissues of the plantain weed.
