This pathogen primarily affects the photosynthetic organs of plants, leading to the formation of necrotic spots that impair the plant's metabolic processes. It is a recognized threat in various agricultural landscapes where favorable conditions occur.

The host range of this pathogen includes a variety of cereals and grasses. The disease impacts the overall physiology of the plant by disrupting the leaf tissue structure.
