The beet armyworm (Spodoptera exigua) is a destructive polyphagous pest belonging to the Noctuidae family. It is essential to clarify that it is an insect pest, not a plant disease, though its feeding habits often expose plants to secondary infections. The larvae are notorious for their rapid feeding and wide range of host plants, causing significant economic losses worldwide.
This pest affects a diverse variety of agricultural and horticultural crops.
