Description
DOBRYNIA 3 is a medium-early winter barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) with a six-row, dense spike and barbed awns that develop intense anthocyanin pigmentation after heading, turning straw-yellow during maturation. The grain is of medium size, with a 1000-grain mass ranging from 30 to 43 grams, depending on the region and growing conditions. Plant height reaches 75-95 cm, classifying it as medium-statured. DOBRYNIA 3 possesses high frost hardiness and lodging resistance, ensuring reliable yields under various climatic conditions. The variety demonstrates high potential yield, reaching 90-102 c/ha in the North Caucasus region and Rostov Oblast according to trial results, significantly exceeding standard varieties such as Bastion and Kozyr. The vegetative period corresponds to the medium-early maturity group, maturing simultaneously with the aforementioned varieties. DOBRYNIA 3 shows high resistance to dwarf rust and net form of leaf spot, but is susceptible to loose smut, powdery mildew, septoria, and covered smut. It is recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region, including the Republic of Adygea, Krasnodar and Stavropol Krais, and Rostov Oblast, and is suitable for growing in the steppes and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine. Optimal sowing times align with winter wheat, with a sowing rate of about 4 million viable seeds per hectare. The variety responds well to predecessors such as peas, perennial forage crops, and can also be sown after sunflower and stubble crops, making it versatile and profitable for agrarians.
