Description
Barley variety Laurin is a medium-late, six-row winter type, recommended for cultivation in all regions of Ukraine. It is characterized by stable and high yields, averaging 60-70 centners per hectare, and may reach up to 80 centners under favorable conditions. The variety exhibits good drought and lodging resistance, as well as high winter hardiness, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions across the country.
Plants of the Laurin variety have medium stem height — approximately 70-80 cm, with slender and strong stems, which requires application of plant growth regulators for strengthening and improving grain quality. The variety shows high resistance to stem diseases and head fusarium, though fungicide protection is recommended for optimal development. Sowing is best conducted at late dates, no later than October 5th, with a seeding rate of 3.5-4.0 million germinating seeds per hectare. Autumn insecticide treatments are also recommended for plant protection.
Agronomic practices for growing Laurin are standard, including mandatory seed treatment and fertilizer application. The best preceding crops are cereal crops. Seeds of this variety are available in elite and first-generation reproduction, ensuring high yield potential and grain quality. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, barley Laurin is a profitable and reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve stable and high-quality yields.
