The breeding program of the V.M. Remeslo Myronivka Institute of Wheat focuses on creating crop varieties capable of thriving in the diverse and challenging agro-climatic conditions of Ukraine. The spring barley variety "MIP Vdiachnyi" is engineered for agronomists who prioritize crop stability and high-performance production systems.

Morphological Profile and Yield Parameters

This variety is categorized as mid-season, characterized by a well-balanced morphology. With a plant height of 70–80 cm, "MIP Vdiachnyi" exhibits significant resistance to lodging, even under high nitrogen input regimes. This structural integrity ensures that photosynthates are efficiently partitioned into grain development rather than vegetative biomass.

The Thousand Kernel Weight (TKW) ranges between 48 and 50 grams. This high kernel weight, coupled with excellent grain density, makes the harvested product highly competitive in both the feed and processing sectors.

Phytopathological Resilience

The core value of "MIP Vdiachnyi" lies in its genetically determined resistance to major pathogens that typically compromise yield potential in humid environments.

• Foliar Disease Management: The variety shows strong genetic resistance to powdery mildew and brown spot.
• Specific Resistance Traits: High tolerance to dwarf leaf rust allows for a reduction in fungicide applications, directly lowering production costs.
• Mycosphaerella Blotch Control: The genetic barrier effectively suppresses the development of the pathogen, preventing premature leaf senescence.
