Nastaja

Nastasia is a spring barley variety with high yield potential, primarily intended for feed purposes, especially for producing high-quality animal feed. The variety is adapted for cultivation in the Polissia and Forest-Steppe zones, where it demonstrates the best yield performance. At the beginning of the vegetation period, Nastasia is characterized by excellent early growth and even seedling emergence, which contributes to forming a stable and high yield.

Agronomic and biological characteristics of the variety include well-developed bushiness, allowing yields ranging from 50.0 to 93.2 centners per hectare. Nastasia's stems are short, upright, about 60 cm tall, medium-thick, with short internodes, providing high resistance to lodging. Heading occurs at medium maturity, and the ear has a moderate structure and a straw-yellow color.

The grain of the variety is relatively large, yellow, elongated-elliptical in shape. The awns covering the grain and preventing its spillage are medium-sized and elongated upward. For optimal development and increased yield, mineral fertilizers should be applied during vegetation; however, the variety does not require complex agronomic practices, simplifying its cultivation.
