Description
The Rahat spring barley variety is a mid-maturing and medium-stature variety created using modern biotechnologies in collaboration with leading agricultural research institutes. The vegetative period lasts 76-84 days, and plants reach a height of 55-68 cm. The variety is characterized by high resistance to lodging and drought resistance at the level of the Prerya variety, ensuring stable productivity even under unfavorable conditions. Rahat forms an evened-out tillering that matures simultaneously, allowing for efficient harvesting using direct combine harvesting.
The grain of the Rahat variety is distinguished by high quality characteristics, making it valuable for both fodder purposes and brewing. Grain size reaches 95-97%, and the mass of 1000 grains varies from 47 to 56 grams. Protein content is in the range of 10-17%, which ensures good technological properties during processing. Grain covering is 8-9%, which also positively affects the quality of the final product.
The variety has high resistance to powdery mildew due to the presence of the Run 8 gene, as well as medium resistance to stem rust.
