RAIDER

RAIDER is a mid-season spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety of the nutans type, intended for grain-forage and brewing use. The vegetative period ranges from 65 to 93 days depending on the region, allowing cultivation in various climatic conditions of the Central, Central Black Earth, North Caucasian, and Middle Volga regions. Plants are of medium height (58-90 cm) with an erect bush and a thin, sturdy stem, ensuring resistance to lodging. The spike is pyramidal with medium density, long awns, and medium to strong anthocyanin pigmentation at the tips. Grain is large, elongated-elliptical, straw-yellow in color, with a 1000-grain weight ranging from 42 to 52 grams. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to heat, drought, and lodging, as well as moderate resistance to root rots. Under field conditions, medium susceptibility to helminthosporiosis and net blotch is noted, while dark brown blotch and powdery scab manifest very weakly. Plants exhibit high productive tillering and uniformity of stem number, contributing to stable yields. Average yield in the Central region is about 35.1 ц/ha, with maximum indicators up to 61.3 ц/ha, confirming the variety's high adaptability and potential for high-quality harvest. RAIDER seeds contain all necessary nutrients for full growth and development of plants, making them an optimal choice for sowing in various agro-climatic conditions. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the Ivanovo region and other regions where it shows an increase in yield compared to reference varieties. High protein content (9.4-14.6%) in the grain makes this barley valuable for feed purposes and the brewing industry, ensuring high-quality raw materials for further processing.
