World

Barley variety World was included in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2008 and is recommended for cultivation in the zones of Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe. This medium-maturing variety with a vegetation period of 70-80 days features a two-row ear 9-11 cm long and light-yellow grain with a 1000-grain weight of 46-51 g. Plant height is 70-80 cm, and grain uniformity reaches 97%. The variety is intended for high-intensity agriculture and has high yield, averaging 5.5-6.5 t/ha, with potential up to 7-10 t/ha.

World is characterized by high drought resistance (9 points) and resistance to lodging (8-9 points). It also exhibits high resistance to major barley diseases such as powdery mildew, dwarf rust, helminthosporiosis, as well as to airborne, black, and stone smut. These traits make the variety a reliable choice for various climatic conditions and contribute to stable high yields even under adverse weather conditions.

World belongs to the brewing barley type, confirmed by its high extractability, reaching up to 82%. High tillering and stem uniformity ensure good yield formation. The recommended seeding rate is 180-220 kg/ha. Thanks to its combination of high productivity, resistance to stress and diseases, as well as the quality of grain, World is a promising and in-demand variety for cultivation in Ukraine.
