LEMON SLICES

Lemon basil is an annual plant up to 35 cm tall, known for its bright lemon aroma and delicate taste. The entire above-ground part of the plant contains essential oil, giving dishes a unique aroma with a gradual taste transition from a slight bitterness to a sweet aftertaste. Leaves, young shoots, and basil flowers are widely used both fresh and dried to flavor various dishes, including salads, meat and fish products, as well as for pickling vegetables and smoking. This variety of basil is distinguished by high resistance to diseases and pests, making it convenient for growing both in open ground and on a windowsill. The plant prefers warm, sunny spots protected from wind and requires regular watering. For planting, it is recommended to use light, well-structured soils with a high humus content. The vegetative period until the first cut of leaves is about one and a half months, and during the season, greens can be cut up to four times, ensuring a stable and abundant harvest. An early-maturing variety of basil reaches technical maturity 46-51 days after germination. Leaves have an egg-shaped shape, green in color with a slight wavy edge, and the mass of one plant is about 200-220 grams. Thanks to the strong lemon aroma, basil is widely used fresh and dried for preparing seasonings, sauces, and flavoring various dishes. The yield of greens can reach up to 1 kg per square meter, which makes this variety attractive for home and commercial growing.
