LEMON WONDER

The Lemon basil variety "Lemon Wonder" is an annual plant up to 35-40 cm tall with dense, well-branched stems. Its bright lemon-mint aroma is a distinguishing feature of this variety, while the leaves and young shoots have a rich spicy flavor. The plant is ready for harvesting early — the first crop of greens can be obtained 45-53 days after sowing. The yield is high, reaching 2.3-2.5 kg per square meter, making this variety attractive for growing both in open ground and on a windowsill.

Lemon basil is rich in essential oils, which give it a pleasant lemon aroma and a unique taste with a gradual change of shades — from a light bitterness to a sweet aftertaste. The entire above-ground part of the plant contains useful substances, including mineral salts and vitamins A, C, P, and B group. Due to its flavor and aromatic qualities, basil is widely used in cooking: it is added fresh and dried to salads, meat and fish dishes, for smoking, as well as for flavoring canned products and pickling vegetables.

In addition to traditional use, the "Lemon Wonder" variety is excellent for growing microgreens. Lemon basil microgreens have a bright citrus aroma, are rich in antioxidants, and contribute to strengthening the immune system, improving digestion, and a general tonic effect. To grow microgreens, it is enough to sow seeds on a thin layer of soil or coconut substrate, maintain moisture and provide light after germination. The young greens are ready for consumption in just 10-14 days, which allows enjoying a fresh and healthy product year-round.
