Description
The DARINA bean variety is early-maturing and quick-maturing, with a period from germination to technical maturity of 45-47 days. The plant is bush-type, compact, 40-50 cm tall, with pods located above the leaves. Pods are green, long (12-15 cm), wide, straight or slightly curved, without a parchment layer or fiber, ensuring tenderness and ease of picking. The mass of one pod is 8-9 g, and an average of 10-12 pods form on the plant.
DARINA bean is distinguished by high yield – up to 1.4 kg per square meter, as well as good disease resistance. The content of dry matter in pods is 8.5–10%, sugars – 1.7–2%, and vitamin C – 18–21 mg%. The recommended sowing rate per hectare is 80–125 kg. Sowing is carried out in open ground in late May – early June, at a depth of 3-5 cm, with a distance between plants of 10 cm and between rows of 30-40 cm.
DARINA bean pods have excellent taste qualities, are suitable for culinary processing, freezing, and pickling. Harvesting green beans begins in the second decade of July, 8-10 days after mass flowering, with a frequency of 7-8 days, conducting 3-4 harvests over the summer period. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to avoid over-wetting and the use of chlorine-containing fertilizers, as the crop is heat-loving and sensitive to such conditions.
