Origin and Selection History

The 'Zolotistaya' bean is the result of long-term selective breeding by the N.I. Vavilov Research Institute of Plant Industry in collaboration with the 'Dachnaya Akademiya' team (S.N. Samigullin and L.V. Lagutina). Unlike modern commercial hybrids, 'Zolotistaya' is a stable, open-pollinated variety. This allows gardeners to collect seeds from their own harvest without losing the plant's valuable traits, making it a reliable staple for sustainable cultivation.

Classified as a bush-type snap bean (also known as sugar or vegetable bean), 'Zolotistaya' is highly regarded for its tender pods.
