Description
Growing Ilkar cabbage is possible both in open ground and in greenhouses. Seeds are sown at the end of February into individual pots, planted 0.5 cm deep to avoid transplanting. The optimal temperature for germination is around 20 °C, then reduced to 15-18 °C during the day and 8-10 °C at night. Seedlings are transplanted into open ground at the end of April. Cabbage requires regular and frequent watering, especially in the first weeks after transplanting, but excessive soil moisture must be avoided to prevent fungal diseases.
To ensure high and stable yields, it is recommended to fertilize the plants several times during the vegetation period. The first feeding is conducted 2-3 weeks after transplanting seedlings using cow manure solution, followed by a second feeding 10 days later, and the final feeding with mineral fertilizers. Protective treatments against diseases and pests include preventive applications of specialized agents or natural methods such as dusting with tobacco and wood ash. The Ilkar hybrid is highly adaptable to various climatic conditions and suitable for cultivation in different crop rotations.
