Centaur cabbage is a late-maturing hybrid of white cabbage, intended for cultivation during the late summer to autumn period. The maturity period ranges from 130 to 145 days after transplanting seedlings. The heads are flat-round in shape, distinguished by high density and uniformity, with a small inner core, making them convenient for processing and fresh market sales. Average head weight varies from 2.5 to 4 kg, and a strong waxy coating effectively protects the plant from pests such as aphids and thrips. The plant exhibits a massive and compact form with well-developed vegetative mass and an elevated rosette of leaves. The Centaur hybrid shows high resistance to fusarium wilt, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss. Yield of this variety reaches 85–110 tons per hectare, confirming its high productivity and economic attractiveness for farmers and agricultural enterprises. Centaur cabbage has a long storage life, which is an important advantage for marketing and industrial processing. It is recommended to cultivate this hybrid on loamy soils rich in organic matter, while observing crop rotation, planting cabbage no earlier than 4–5 years after such predecessors as perennial grasses, legumes, winter crops, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, and carrots. This helps reduce disease incidence and pest populations.
