The vegetative period is about 45-48 days, which allows for a harvest already by the fortieth day after planting. The plant is a climber, forming 2-3 fruits per node, which ensures abundant and prolonged fruiting. Octopus differs with a powerful plant, a simple type of ovary, and can grow successfully even on heavy soils; it tolerates high temperatures well, does not yellow or deform in the heat, making it universal for various soil and climatic conditions. Octopus cucumber fruits have a short cylindrical shape with large bumps, a saturated green color, and white spines. The average fruit size varies from 6 to 9 cm, mass from 100 to 110 g, and the length to diameter ratio is approximately 3.1:1. A feature of the hybrid is the absence of bitterness and the stability of fruit coloration even during long-term storage and transportation. These qualities make Octopus ideal for pickling, salting, and fresh consumption.
