Description
The hybrid is characterized by high yield — with proper agronomy, you can obtain 10–12 kg per square meter. It grows well on loose, warm, and moist soils, positively responds to moderate watering, thinning, and application of potassium and calcium fertilizers. Bilbo F1 is resistant to major carrot diseases such as cercosporosis, alternaria, and black root rot, but preventive treatments against pests, such as carrot fly, are recommended. Seeds have high germination (around 90%), and planting density is 0.8–0.9 million seeds per hectare.
Carrot Bilbo F1 is versatile in application: suitable for fresh consumption, long-term storage (up to 8 months), and processing — canning, freezing, juice production, and baby food. High carotene content (up to 22 mg per 100 g dry matter) and sugar content (7–7.2%) make this hybrid particularly valuable in terms of nutritional and taste qualities. Dense and uniform flesh retains its properties under various thermal treatments, expanding the possibilities for carrot use in culinary applications.
