Description
The carrots of Norway have a cylindrical shape, are long, even, and smooth, with a small core. The weight of one fruit varies from 100 to 200 grams. The color is rich dark-orange, indicating high levels of carotene and vitamins of groups B and A. The flesh contains approximately 7.7–7.9% sugar and 12.1% dry matter, providing a pleasant sweet taste and high nutritional value. Thanks to these characteristics, carrots are suitable for fresh consumption, processing, and culinary use.
The Norway hybrid is highly resistant to major diseases such as cercosporosis, black rot, and spotting, and possesses a strong leafy canopy. The roots retain their market quality after washing and polishing, making them suitable for mechanical harvesting and long-term storage — up to 4–5 months without loss of flavor or nutritional properties. The recommended seeding rate is 1.0 to 1.6 million seeds per hectare, ensuring optimal planting density and active growth even in dense conditions.
