At the heart of the Case IH Axial-Flow lies the single-rotor concept, which has remained the benchmark for gentle grain handling for decades. Unlike straw-walker machines, here threshing and separation occur due to centrifugal force generated by the rotor spinning inside a stationary concave. This design minimizes mechanical grain damage, which is critical when harvesting seed crops or delicate varieties.

Key Components and Field Performance

• Axial-Flow Rotor: The primary working element features a unique blade geometry ensuring gradual threshing. The crop moves in a spiral path, significantly reducing power consumption and engine load compared to conventional systems.
• Cross-Flow Cleaning System: Automatic side-slope compensation is a technical necessity, not just a feature. The system uses a fan that generates a uniform airflow, effectively blowing out chaff even on slopes and preventing grain losses.
• Transmission and Drive Design: Case IH relies on a mechanical rotor drive through a gearbox, eliminating slippage and power losses common in hydraulic alternatives. This ensures stable RPM even when crop volume spikes suddenly.
