Calypso

Calypso is a coriander variety intended for cultivation in private household plots. The plant is distinguished by its medium height and upright form with a raised leaf rosette, which feature a bright green color, fine structure, and smooth surface. The leaves possess a strong aroma and tender texture, making them ideal for use fresh as a seasoning for various dishes. Coriander flowers are light pink, and the mass of one plant is approximately 22-24 grams. Green yield reaches 2.4-2.6 kg per square meter, allowing for up to five cuts per season, including hot months, thanks to rapid and uniform maturation and the ability to quickly regrow after cutting.

The Calypso variety is late-maturing; the period from germination to green harvesting is about 90 days. To obtain a continuous harvest, it is recommended to repeat sowings every 15-20 days. Seeds are sown at a depth of 1.0-1.5 cm with a distance between plants of 15x15 cm. The plant is powerful but compact, which facilitates care and harvesting. Coriander Calypso is not prone to bolting, which contributes to long-term and stable green harvesting.

For growing Coriander Calypso, fertile, well-drained soils and sunny sites are preferable. Care includes regular watering, especially during dry periods, as well as top-dressing with mineral fertilizers to maintain high yield. Leaves and young stems are used as salad greens, while dried leaves and mature seeds are used as a spicy seasoning in cooking, making this variety universal and in demand in a home household.
