Amello

The Amello hybrid sweet corn is a mid-early complex hybrid with a hard kernel type and FAO 240. It is distinguished by high early growth energy, ensuring a good start to the vegetative period. Amello has excellent grain quality with a high 1000-grain weight — from 350 to 360 grams, as well as high starch content up to 73% and protein content around 9.5%. Morphologically, plants reach a height of 240–260 cm, with ears containing 14–18 rows and 500–640 kernels, contributing to high yield potential reaching 160–180 c/ha under optimal conditions. The Amello hybrid demonstrates high stability and adaptability to various growing conditions, making it ecologically suitable for different climatic zones, including western, central, northeastern, and southern regions. It exhibits excellent resistance to cold, drought, lodging, and stem breakage, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss. Additionally, the hybrid shows high resistance to several diseases, such as bacterial blight, helminthosporium, fusarium, and root rots, ensuring reliability and stability of agronomic performance. Amello is recommended for cultivation with an optimal planting density of 80–85 thousand plants per hectare under adequate moisture and 65–70 thousand under insufficient conditions. High cold tolerance and early growth energy facilitate successful adaptation and development of plants in various soil-climatic conditions.
